Any time your cosmetics have a different odor, color, or texture from when you first purchased it, it means the product should be discarded. Because of their bacterial content using a product past its prime can lead to infection and/or disease, especially products applied to the eyes (e.g. mascara, eyeliner). It's recommended to discard makeup as follows:
Lipstick:
鈥?Life-span: 2 years
鈥?Warning signs = taste or odor change, stickiness
Foundation:
鈥?Life-span = 6 months to 1 year
鈥?Warning signs = thickening, altered color, or change in odor
Concealer:
鈥?Life-span = 1 to 1 陆 years
鈥?Warning signs = color change or thickening
Brush, Face powder, Eye-shadow:
鈥?Life-span = 3 years
鈥?Warning signs = texture change when applying, dryness or change in color
Mascara:
鈥?Life-span = 3 to 4 months
鈥?Warning signs = Change in odor, texture, or color
Pencils: (for eyes or lips)
鈥?Life-span = 3 to 6 months
鈥?Warning signs = Change in odor, texture, or color
I hope this helps! : )What will happen if you put a lip gloss which starts stinking like rotten? Is it expired?
I wouldn't risk it. If you have cracked lips or something, you could get an infection. Also, women actually consume a small part of their lipstick and lipgloss, so you could actually eat something that's rotten, and become nauseated.
Yuppppppp it will cause an infection throw it away plzzzzzzz quick it may damage ur lips go to superdrug and buy some others!!!! runnn!!
Bin it! It'll probably taste as disgusting as it smells!
